Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advocating for Storage King USA by showcasing our storage units, products, and promotions. 
  • Enhancing our community relations through local marketing outreach by engaging and utilizing the Storage King USA referral program and incentives. 
  • Converting telephone and walk-in inquiries into storage rentals.
  • Renting storage units, parking space, and selling store merchandise.
  • Developing relationships and cross promotion opportunities by partnering with local businesses in the communities we serve. 
  • Daily property walks to check locks, check for cleanliness and upkeep, sweep the property, clean units, ensuring supplies are appropriately stocked, and performing other light maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service on cranes
  • Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and structural issues
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and manufacturer manuals
  • Conduct load testing and safety inspections in compliance with OSHA and ANSI standards
  • Repair or replace motors, brakes, cables, gears, pumps, and control systems
  • Document all work performed, parts used, and inspection results
  • Respond to emergency service calls as needed
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, customers, and operators
  • Maintain service trucks, tools, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
  • Follow all company and site-specific safety policies

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience as a crane technician, heavy equipment mechanic, or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot independently and make sound repair decisions
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work at heights and lift heavy components
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on-call rotations

Preferred Qualifications

  • NCCCO or equivalent crane certification
  • Experience with mobile cranes, tower cranes, and/or overhead cranes
  • PLC or control system troubleshooting experience
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders, cranes, and scaffolding

This is a full-time, hourly position with some weekends required.

  • Renting storage units, parking space, and selling store merchandise.
  • Converting telephone and walk-in inquiries into storage rentals.
  • Operate the property within the budgeted guidelines established by Storage King USA leadership.
  • Schedule all contractors for any other services needed. Inspect all work performed prior to approval for payment to contractors.
  • Enforce a fair and comprehensive rental collection practice as dictated per policy. Be present for auctions of delinquent tenants and evictions.
  • Directs activities of all on-site personnel and maintains a great working environment.
  • Post, collect, track, and manage delinquency of rental and other income.
  • Ensure desired renewals are being captured at the highest rate possible.
